Web Clip Profile · iOS 14+
Spectrum installs as a Web Clip — a one-tap icon that launches the app fullscreen. Use Safari, not Chrome or any other browser, for the download to work.

Tap "Download Spectrum Profile"
On the Spectrum site (open in Safari), tap the iOS download button. Safari will say "This website is trying to download a configuration profile." Tap Allow.

Open the Settings app. You'll see Profile Downloaded near the top — tap it. Then tap Install (top right). Enter your passcode if prompted.

Find Spectrum on your Home Screen
A fresh Spectrum icon — the rainbow ring on dark navy — will appear on your home screen. Tap it. The app opens fullscreen, no Safari UI in sight.

Progressive Web App · Chrome / Edge / Brave
Spectrum installs as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Chrome may show an install banner automatically — if not, follow the menu steps below.

Open Spectrum in Chrome
Visit the Spectrum site in Chrome. After a second, Chrome may show an "Install Spectrum" banner at the bottom — tap it to skip to step 3.

If no banner appears, tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in Chrome's top right, then tap Install app or Add to Home screen.

Find Spectrum in your app drawer
A "Spectrum" icon appears in your app drawer and on your home screen. Tap it. Like a real app — fullscreen, with its own task in the recents view.

Troubleshooting
If something's not working, the answer is probably here.
My iPhone says "This profile is not signed."
Tap Install anyway. The profile is unsigned (Apple's $99/year developer code-signing isn't needed for a free Web Clip), but it only adds a home-screen icon — it cannot read or change any data on your device.
I tapped the iOS download button but nothing happens.
You're probably in Chrome or another browser. Web Clip profiles only download in Safari. Long-press the download link, choose Open in Safari, and try again.
I don't see "Profile Downloaded" in Settings.
Look at the very top of the Settings main page. If it's not there, go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management and the profile will be listed under "Downloaded Profile."
My Android Chrome won't show the install banner.
Chrome only shows the banner if you've interacted with the page for at least a few seconds. Open the three-dot menu (⋮) and choose Install app manually. If "Install app" isn't there, try Add to Home screen instead.
After install, the app shows the browser address bar.
You may have launched it from a bookmark instead of the home-screen icon. Close it and tap the Spectrum icon on your home screen — it will launch in fullscreen mode.
I want to uninstall Spectrum.
iOS: Long-press the icon → Remove App → Delete App. To also remove the profile, go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management and tap Remove.
Android: Long-press the icon → Uninstall.
Android: Long-press the icon → Uninstall.
Does Spectrum work offline?
Yes, after your first launch. The PWA service worker caches all app files locally, so you can mix colours and view recipes without an internet connection. Updates to the app will download automatically the next time you're online.
My school iPad blocks profile installation.
Some schools enable Apple's Restrictions / Screen Time to block profile installation for security. Ask your IT administrator to whitelist this profile, or open Spectrum in Safari directly each time — it still works from the browser.
